Plasma Fibroblast

What Is Plasma Fibroblast Tightening?

Fibroblasts play an important role in helping skin wounds heal as well as maintaining skin firmness and tightness. Plasma fibroblast therapy uses a pen-like device that discharges a high-frequency electric current to small areas of the skin. The plasma tip doesn’t directly touch the skin, but instead releases a targeted current just above the skin. The hot current creates small holes, or micro-injuries, in the skin’s layer

How does it Work?

The creation of the electrical energy that sparks off from the device will ionise the Nitrogen within the air. This then creates a small spontaneous plasma arc that when it hits the targeted area the skin will vaporise the epidermis leaving a minute vaporised dot. As the treatment progresses you will have a collaboration of multiple small dots that will deliver a shrinking, tightened lifted effect of the treated area. TRULY MARVELLOUS!

Due to the skin being heated, fragmented and vaporised, the small plasma caused dots will go darker and simply flake off a few days later as part of the healing process. Collagen is stimulated and the elastic fibre tissues give off a further tightening effect.
Effects are visible almost immediately (i.e.) eyelid lift, however results are progressive over time.

As Plasma Skin Tightening is more than a simple tightening treatment, skin is actually removed, so the effects should last as long as they would with invasive surgery. Like all surgical and cosmetic procedures, the effects of plasma treatment are not entirely permanent as it does not stop any further ageing. But, the positive results should last you years depending on the area treated. The positive effects of treatment will be noticeable immediately after the first treatment, but the best results will be seen after 8 to 12 weeks.

You will more than likely see immediate results. Some redness and swelling can occur which can distort the results, however you will be able to see special results right away. You will notice more firmness and tightening of the treated areas as the skin continues to heal and produce more collagen up to 6 months down the line.

Plasma treatment is referred to as “soft surgery” because it delivers similar results as cosmetic surgery without the risk, cost or recovery time. On the treatment day, it is recommended that no make-up is worn on the treatment area. We suggest taking an anti-histamine 30 minutes prior to your appointment to help with swelling and continue to take anti-histamines for 2-3 days following your appointment. A numbing agent is applied and left to take effect for up to 45 minutes. When the treatment area is sufficiently numb, the session begins with multiple connections of the plasma tip, spaced closely together. Minimal discomfort can be expected. You may feel some heat in the treatment area, which may be uncomfortable and slightly irritating. Treatment time is usually between 10-40 minutes, depending on the size of the area.

Immediately after treatment the area will be red and mildly swollen with small crustations and discoloration. You may experience a sensation similar to a sun burn which will likely last a few hours. Swelling may intensify over the following few hours and more so when eyes are treated and may last 2-3 days. The crustations/discoloration should resolve within 5 -7 days depending on the individual and area treated. Essentially there is downtime, but it is considerably less than with surgery. The majority of people are safe to drive following their Plasma Skin Tightening procedure.

A follow up appointment must be made 4 to 6 weeks post treatment, this appointment is to see that the recovery is on track and to take post treatment photos. Most people see noticeable result after the first treatment although some may require more than one treatment and this is subject to your personal expectation. Usually results are immediate and progressive. Clinical studies show that improvement progression continues for at least one year after treatment. The number of treatments required will vary according to the condition being treated, skin’s laxity, the desired degree of correction and the individual’s response to the treatment. Further treatments can be carried out to get better results, although it is uncommon to require more than 3 treatments. Appointments must be spaced out 8 – 12 weeks. All Second treatments are priced at 40% less than the first treatment. And all third treatments are prices at 60% less than the first treatment.
